Unity ใช้ภาษา C# เป็นภาษาหลักในการพัฒนาเกมบนเอนจินสำหรับเวอร์ชันในปัจจุบัน โดยก่อนหน้านี้ในยูนิตี้เวอร์ชันเก่า ได้มีการใช้ภาษาที่เรียกว่า Boo ในการพัฒนาเกมซึ่งภาษานี้ได้ถูกยกเลิกและนำออกจากตัวเอนจินไปในยูนิตี้เวอร์ชัน 5 นอกจากนี้ก็ยังมีการใช้ภาษาที่เรียกว่า UnityScript (ซึ่งเป็นภาษาที่ได้รับอิทธิพลมาจาก Javascript) ก่อนที่จะถูกประกาศให้ควรเลิกใช้ (Deprecated) ในยูนิตี้เวอร์ชัน 2017.1 ในเดือนสิงหาคม ค.ศ. 2017
